Southdown Homes received two of the prestigious awards. Pickering Crossing was awarded the Best Land/Engineering Plan and Southdown Homes was the recipient of the award for Best Renovated Basement.
Pickering Crossing is a community of 76 luxury twins and townhomes in a close-to-everything Malvern location. Pickering Crossing features extensive landscaping, a community garden, walking trail with exercise stations, public walkways, central open space, a community mail center, a community plaza, tot lot, multi-purpose recreation area, and nature trail connecting to the Horse-Shoe Trail to Philadelphia! The design style was created within Charlestown Township historic requirements to replicate a “Charming Old World Village” with bright colors, cultured brick chimneys and real brick exposed foundations. Stunning details include; shake-style and shiplap cementitious siding, wide corner moldings, and solid shutters with metal hardware. Old world wrought-iron style exterior lighting creates a standardized cohesive look throughout the community. The low maintenance exteriors incorporate the highest quality material and finishes such as; HardiePlank, composite decking, Azek trim and anodized metal roofing.
The customization skills of Southdown Homes were honored with the Synergy Award for Best Renovated Basement. The winning, one-of-a-kind, finished basement features a lounge area with large screen tv and floating shelves opening to the bar/gathering area with its built-in wine refrigerator, Carrera marble counters, bright steel hardware, chrome faucets, solid wood floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, farmhouse table with seating for 12 and solid core doors. The game room connects to a dual-use children’s play space with two televisions set against hand-milled wood plank floor-to-ceiling accent walls. The “Walk-In Dollhouse” complete with heart-shaped door leads to a quiet retreat filled with toys while outside is a life-size dollhouse to play in! An exquisite milled sliding barn door provides access, and allows parents to monitor play-time from the adjacent exercise area. Opulent en-suite accommodations accented by open-beam ceiling and a luxurious marble frameless spa shower provide guest space or a home office.
The Synergy Awards honor excellence in construction, sales and marketing, as well as design of new homes in Chester and Delaware Counties, HBA Executive Vice President Lauren Adams said, “This event honors the best in our industry, it is a pleasure to work with our members and we congratulate this year’s winners.”
